San Didier

Picture
The San Didier lies in about 25m, a French battleship, she was sunk in 1942. Apparently you need permission to dive her, and there is not much of her left. However the idea of an Englishman standing on the deck of yet another sunken French ship is too tempting, we will have to give it a try! (I hope whoever took the photo dosent mind it being used, I cant read the banner!)

The Paris

Picture
The Paris. A lovely wreck, I first dived this back in 2000. She was sunk by a Turkish shore battery in 1917 and lies on her keel at 30m. You can stand on the level poop deck and pretend to be the captain and last time I was there you could still see ammunition for the forward gun scattered over the seabed.

Uluburun

Picture
The Uluburun sounds a bit old, it’s been down there for 700 years, I wonder if it’s worth a dive? We shall ask locally.

The Duchess of York

Picture
The Duchess of York, or is it the Duchess of York, who knows, but we’ll dive it anyway. It may well be a distant view as she lies in depths up to 90m, but apparently the nearby reef is a good dive in it’s own right.

The Majestic

Picture
The Majestic was one of over 200 ships which sank during the Gallipoli campaign in 1916. She lies in 29m. Many of the other more interesting wrecks are much much deeper, the best being HMS Triumph, but she’s in 96m. Having read some reports on diving these wrecks it seems a mixed bag to say the least.
